During the testing period, C Special was supplied for use in lakes with weeds that are less dependent on light than most others. C Special treated water takes on a slightly darker blue hue and filters out more red light.

You can kill difficult aquatic weeds with C Special.

As C Special is designed to kill tough aquatic weeds, it has also been used to slow or stop the growth of Chara, an algae that looks like weeds.

Certain rhizomatous weeds need little light to grow, and DyoFix C Special, which is a combination of DyoFix Pond Blue and DyoFix Lake shadow, reflects as much light as possible from the base of the lake, but still leaves the water clear. The resulting water color is darker than DyoFix Pond Blue, but it is still a very light shade.

Additions

To maintain the DyoFix level in the water, 10% of the initial dose is usually added monthly.
